Baby Doll Birthday Party
My youngest daughter has always been obsessed with baby dolls so when her birthday was coming up there was no question what her birthday theme would be! We didn’t do a big second birthday party so this was her first party to really get excited about and I was so excited to give her the baby doll birthday party of her dreams! We just did a doll party for my 7 year old and my 3 year old wanted a similar party but for babies instead of the bigger dolls. I wanted to meet her expectations of making the party similar but also wanted to make sure it didn’t feel like the exact same party over again! I’ll add the links to everything we used at the bottom of this post!
All my daughter wanted to do for her birthday was play with baby dolls with her friends, so we asked all her friends to bring their favorite baby doll with them to her party! Since park parties are way easier with little kids we decided to bring all the pretend play stuff to the park! I got this super cute little house tent and made a vinyl decal on my Cricut that said “Ellie’s Daycare.” We also brought a play kitchen, market, high chair and a doll crib. We had some old rugs we were going to get rid of so we laid them out on the grass to give the kids a place to sit down and play without having to worry about wet grass.
For party favors I bought these bags and glued a few patches to the front with their first initial. Then I filled the bags as if they were diaper bags for the babies. Every girl got a real baby diaper, a real baby bottle, a doll pacifier, and a baby blanket my mother-in-law made. I put all the diaper bags in this rack and then added some decorations to make it cute!
I used real baby bottles and diapers instead of doll ones because they were actually cheaper and my daughter loves to use the real stuff when she is playing anyways! You can see in the picture here how it looked all set up. The kids had so much fun taking care of their babies!
We also got each of the girls their own baby doll stroller. Since we didn’t get a bounce house and I had a lot of the decorations on hand I had room in the budget to do this. But we also kept the party really small, it was only girls and we asked for no siblings that way we could afford to spoil her friends a little more! I found these strollers at target for a super affordable price!
One of my favorite things to do at the kids parties is to set a kids table. We use two black storage bins as the legs and a piece of wood as a table top. If you use a regular sized tablecloth it will cover it perfectly! I like to use these tablecloths and I buy them in a color that I can reuse for the parties each year. I also bought throw pillows and pillow cases in bulk to use as a seat for each kid! We also use this arch over the top of the table to hang decorations. At my other daughters birthday party we hung flowers but this time we did balloons and it turned out so cute!
I also like to set a seat for each kid at the table. I use glue dots to attach the plate to the tablecloth so it doesn’t blow away in the wind. I also get cute themed cups and will write each kids name on it so they know their seat as well as which cup is theirs!
These bow cups were adorable for our theme and were so cute sitting on the table! I also got these really cute bow boxes to use for each girls lunch. When we are doing a park party I love to pack each kid a little lunch box instead of having a bunch of food sitting out in the sun where bugs could get it. At my son’s park party the month prior we did pizza and hot dogs and honestly the food grossed me out! I fill the lunch boxes with easy foods kids love like string cheese, a sandwich, crackers, etc.
I had some little and big baby bottles we put out as decorations. We found the, in the baby shower aisle at hobby lobby and my daughter just had to have them!
I love creating a photo backdrop for parties! Not just for taking photos but also because it makes such a big impact on the overall decor of the party! It’s such an easy way to add a big pop of color! I love to use these arches because they are so easy to use, break down and store super easily and are so customizable! I will buy new covers for different theme parties and it’s so much cheaper than trying to make one out of wood or renting one.
I bought these baby shower blocks as decoration and we filled them with balloons. One thing I will warn you is that they are really flimsy. You need to tape all the boxes together and add something to the bottom as a weight so they don’t blow away.
We didn’t have a ton of food out since we did the little lunch boxes but we did have a dessert table for the cake along with some other treats! I also wrapped some cardboard boxes in wrapping paper to store the individual packs of chips and crackers. Since this was a park party it was so much cleaner and easier to do this instead of a big bowl of chips. I love these table cloths for parties because they are fitted to the table so they wont blow around in the wind.
The cake was so pretty! We are so lucky that my husband’s aunt makes beautiful cakes and always makes one for my kids parties!
I bought these cupcake liners and toppers on amazon and thought they turned out so cute! I like to stick with plain vanilla frosting on cupcakes because then we don’t have to worry about all the artificial dyes or someone turning their face blue from a cupcake!
She had such a great time and it was honestly such a fun party! The kids had a blast changing their baby diapers, feeding them and playing with all the pretend play stuff we set up! After everyone finished lunch we did a little activity with playdough! I gave each kid a little bit of green, orange and blue play dough and they made peas, carrots and blueberries to feed their babies! My daughter said it was her favorite part of the party! My favorite part was seeing all the little kids pushing their babies in a stroller around the park! Even my son and nephew loved the party! I’ll add a few more pictures from the party below!
