Doll & Me Picnic Birthday Party

For my daughter’s 7th birthday she wanted to have a tea party with her doll and all of her friends! I was about to deliver our 4th baby and we were packing our entire house to move so I was looking for something we could do at the park. We decided to throw a little picnic at the park and invite all her friends and their dolls! My daughter loves to get dressed up and wanted the picnic to be fancy so I decided to create a little picnic area full of flowers for her own little secret garden! Thankfully I always keep our party decor so I can reuse it. So we were able to keep this party affordable! We really only had to buy the food and all of the doll accessories we gave to her friends because we had everything else on hand!

We set up this low picnic table with a piece of scrap plywood and two large black storage bins as the “legs” you can see it in this video I posted. This was perfect because it made it really easy to travel to the park. I also used the storage bins to travel all the pillows we used as little seat cushions. I bought the pillows in a giant pack on amazon a few years ago and we use them for every party! I also bought covers for them in my kids favorite colors that we use for each of their parties. I normally keep the colors the same for parties that way it’s easy to reuse things! I also reuse our sequin table cloths for all the parties as well!

I had leftover plates from a bridal shower I threw for my sister so we used those at each seat and used a glue dot to secure them to the table. If you dont do that they will blow around outdoors!

My moth-in-law had this awesome table arch that hooked on to the ends of the table. It was black so I wrapped it in pink and white tulle and then used fake flower vines to create the hanging flowers. I had previously purchased a bunch of these for my other daughter’s first birthday and saved them to reuse. We also used a pool noodle to add clusters of flowers to the top and sides. You can see more of how we did that in the video.

We put the party for bags at each seat and the first activity the girls did when they arrived was to decorate their bag. We used a Cricut machine to label the bags with their names and gave each girl sticker jewels from the dollar tree to stick on their bag. Then when they finished they could use their bag to store their other craft from the party!

We bought doll outfits for each girl to dress up their doll in a new party dress. I had this clothing rack we previously used at my son’s party and used string and clothes pins to create a cute little doll clothes line. We used weights to keep it from blowing over and covered them with a leftover table cloth. We also used a pool noodle to add the flowers to it.

My moth-in-law made the cute chalkboard sign and wrote on the mirror a little itinerary for the party. We put some of the treats and snacks for the kids at their table but this little table had the overflow.

My husbands aunt makes cakes and she made this beautiful cake for the party!

We set uo this little tepee as a sleeping area for the dolls. We bought each doll a pair of pajamas and a sleeping bag so they could take a nap while the girl did some crafts. We had the girls store their doll clothes in the bags they had decorated.

The sleeping bags came with these little masks and it was so cute to see all the dolls piled up sleeping!

While the dolls slept the girls did some crafts. First we had them make a necklace that matched one we made for the dolls so they had matching necklaces and bracelets. Next they decorated matching flower crowns. I had the flower crowns leftover from a fairy party I did a while back and we just had the girls wrap ribbons around them as a craft. I took the flower crowns and cut some of them and turned them into smaller ones or the dolls. this was a super easy craft and the girls loved it!

We also set up this backdrop for pictures. I love this backdrop and use it a lot for parties because it’s so easy to store! The arches break apart into a small box and the covers just stretch over the top! I’ve used it so much we definitely got our money out of it! We attached the flowers to the top using a pool noodle.
